Police station representative accreditation training providers

AccrediLaw is a specialist provider of PSRAS training and support. The online training is delivered through Moodle. It is practice-focused, structured around how police station work is actually carried out in custody settings. The course aims to prepare candidates for police station work and improve representation standards through better training focused on 'defending suspects' over 'advice'. Candidates join rolling cohorts and progress at their own pace, with tutor contact throughout. A structured online tool supports the Portfolio Assessment, guiding candidates through it step by step. An end-of-module phase test, practise mock assessments and a CIT simulator build confidence for assessment and real-life police station work. Every candidate is allocated an experienced PSR or solicitor as a mentor and gains access to an active professional community of trainee and practising Police Station Representatives that continues post-training.

Cardiff University has been an approved PSRAS assessment organisation and training provider for over 30 years. The PSRAS training courses are designed to match the individual assessment elements and blend e-learning with live online interactive group sessions. These are practice based and engaging with experienced duty solicitor assessors facilitating all live sessions. In addition to PSRAS, the Magistrates Court Qualification (MCQ) is offered to provide both accreditations required to achieve membership of the Law Society's Criminal Law Accreditation Scheme (CLAS) which is needed for membership of a duty solicitor rota scheme. Cardiff University also offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses preparing students for professional legal practice. It is the only Russell Group university to offer both the Solicitors Practice Course and the Bar Training Course demonstrating its commitment to vocational legal education.
