Warning: Email misusing the name Carlos Hernandez Pardo

An email has been sent misusing the name Carlos Hernandez in relation to a fund recovery process.

What is the scam?

The SRA has seen an email sent to a member of the public misusing the name of a genuine solicitor (see details below). The email was sent in relation to fund recovery and it requests the member of the public send identity documents and 'legal proof of payments or investments' in order to start the fund recovery process.

The email signature provides the following telephone numbers: +44 7535 172177 and +43 665 659 73915 and the following email address info@ecb.ac

Any business or transaction through the contact details listed above is not undertaken by a genuine solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Carlos Hernandez Pardo (SRA number 399160).

Mr Pardo has confirmed he has no connection or association with the email or contact details mentioned above in the alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary.
