Correspondence sent misusing the name of John Birkby & Co regarding a property sale

What is the scam?

The SRA has seen correspondence showing the name 'Saher Iftikhar' purporting to be from a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).

The document claims that 'Saher Iftikhar' is the solicitor representing the buyer in relation to a property transaction.

The contact details used by this individual were:

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a solicitor called 'Saher Iftikhar'.

The genuine firm has confirmed that it previously employed a conveyancer named Saher Iftikhar and we believe an individual is misusing their name.

Any business or transaction conducted by 'Saher Iftikhar' through the contact details listed above is not undertaken by a genuine solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.

The genuine firm has confirmed that it has no connection to the matter referred to in the alert above.

What should I do?
