13 November 2025

Emails have been sent misusing the name of Carlos Hernandez Pardo.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that emails have been sent to a member of the public purporting to be from a genuine solicitor (please see genuine details below). The email misuses the name of the genuine solicitor in the email sign-off and is advising the recipient in relation to a financial fraud matter. The email was sent from the email address 'carlos.hernandez@cedrmediation.com' and contains the phone number '+ (43) 66 565 97 3915'. The individual sending the emails claims to be representing a firm named 'CEDR Mediation.'

The SRA has also seen a document attached to one of the emails which shows the address for this firm as 'Marxegasse 1B, 1030 Wien, Austria', with a contact number and email address provided which are the same as those referred to above.

The email signatures contain a link to the SRA person details for the genuine solicitor. However, the website link provided leads to cedrmediation.com which is not an SRA regulated firm.

Any business or transactions through the address, email address, telephone number or document described above is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm called CEDR Mediation.

The SRA authorise and regulate a genuine solicitor called Carlos Hernandez Pardo with SRA number 399160.

The genuine solicitor has confirmed that he has no connection to the email, document or contact details referred to in the above alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
